The most fun I've ever had in a pug was a group that had a range of ages from 52 to 14 years old. The only reason age even came up is because the 52 year old said something about his grandkid.

yo idk what OP is thinking, but i sure will be playin games when im middle aged. hell, when im freaking 100 ill play games no matter what. everyone whos above and around 20 now is the tv + games generation. and mind you, we kick all asses.
its the the kids that play halo all day and dont go to school, who im ashamed of, they learn nothing valuable in life playing that crap, let alone not going to school. be cool, stay in school, and dont be a burden on society due to the fact of being an uber dumb ass...

I'm 17 years old at the moment, and my 39 year old uncle plays the game. Hell, he plays with me most of the time.

Not all adults are the same, they're not all business tycoons that have nothing better to do than to manage and front mega corporations. They're not all a bunch of people that go through what is portrayed on television and movies. And, of course, not everyone is your mother or father.

Here's a suggestion, how about before slagging off us over 30's who actually like playing games to wind down after a hard days work you go out and get a proper education. That way you may one day be capable of posting a coherent sentence with at least a modicum of decent spelling and grammar.

I second that i'll keep buying GW until it stops and play until there is no one left. Its just fun.

And I find that older players (the majority of them) are quite nice and fun to play with, several of which populate my friends lists. I've even met a few people who are married and both of them play gw together. (awww bonding time :-p)

And BTW - I sooooooo want to see a 65 year old say that. ROFL

Its the 20th century. I can't think of anyone with a computing background that doesn't play online games. Heck I have friends with kids that and they still enjoy playing their online games. There is no age limit to when you can stop having fun with computer games.

If you notice on the back of the box it says specifically "Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to play" This seems to me that GW is targeted for people of age. I know there are tons of young people but I think a majority of players are older.

To the OP: I started gaming when I was 10 yo, I'm 32 now. The difference between an adult and a kid is that an adult needs to take care of himself/family, responsability etc. There's no mom/dad that does all for you anymore. You can't hide under their wings anymore. Work is like school, you have to do it (in most cases anyway). In every adult still hides a child. A child that likes to play games like you. The difference between you and me is that my body has grown up and that I got way more life experience and insights than you, even in games, no offense, that's just nature. That's why we old skool players see a decrease in game difficulty, that's the experience kicking in. You on the other hand still have your full youth and in general can micro faster than someone like me. But in the end, we both just like to play games. So lets have fun shall we.

I dont see it as being strange. Games are fun, plain and simple. I know ive met some of my best friends through online games. Its not weird that adults play games, when you think about it it makes a lot of sense. Kids play sports which also adults do, why? Because its enjoyable, a way of socialising. The same can be said of online games. I think a lot of it is to do with with simple sterotype on the games. They are seen as simplistic, escapism and the rest of the stuff that gets thrown at games and gamers. But all this is done by people who dont understand what gaming is about. Once you get into it you see what its all about.

I lol'd.

Gaming doesnt end when you hit the age of 20, when you are a gamer your a gamer for life, most peole get into video games as a hobby at a very early age and it carries with you through life. I have been gaming console and PC since about the age of 12 and im 23 now and still got a massive thirst for it, I can see myself gaming still at 40+ The majority of people I meet playing games are usually 20+ and you will find a lot of the very skilled hardcore players are usually the ones in the upper echelons of the age bracets. Games are not just for kids, and in a way you could argue that MMO's especially need a certain level of maturity to play as you have to engage with people from around the world.

Personally I would MUCH rather party with older players than younger, no offense but I have found younger players to be a burden and an annoyance through out most of my extensive gaming career.

Right I'm 17 years old so may still be considered a kid but seriously I prefer gaming with adults then kids, theyre usually more fun, mature and as a plus they dont spam up the chat channels with C**p..
I know several adults who play and they do it just because they want to MMORPG gaming unites millions of gamers all around the world, its a good medium for making new friends, relaxing and just generally having a laugh.

I get so annoyed by little kids calling me a noob when they have a -60dp and there yelling and spamming at me to heal them when theyre are people who are actually helping the team and stay quiet and wait if theyre killed the adult gamer tends to be a hell of a lot more fun then the child gamer sometimes
This is not a flame war I think a lot of child gamers are mature and decent people to, theyre isnt a right or a wrong age just play whenever you want whatever age.

I will still be trying to play gw from beyond the grave!!!

Stop flaming the OP for asking his valid question. He either doesn't know any adults who game or doesn't realize that someone he knows does game. He's not knocking gaming adults, just trying to fit a new concept into his world.

@OP - most older adults (30+) who play GW have been gaming for a large part of their life. Personally, I started when D&D was a dice/graph paper game and personal computers didn't exist. As RPG moved into the computer world, I moved with it. Now it's gone from standalone to on-line and, once again, I've moved also.

Many people game, but don't speak about it to non-gamers, as the general adult population seems to feel that it's childish. To me, many of their "adult" relaxation methods seem childish. Nothing like a bunch of inept people trying to play softball.
